On Sunday, our journey of about 5 months participating in NEmation! , an annual local animation competition focused around the theme of total defence, has come to an end.
Having seen the clips on TV (back when TV was a thing) when I was younger, I think I'd never expected to be able to participate as a youth, until they opened the youth category this year.
See our clip Choped! below:
It was challenging in many ways, having to find original ideas and styles on the competition's 13th run. From pitch to production, there were really a lot of bumps along the way. But there were also great experiences including recording in a professional sound studio and radio studios, to exploring new techniques of animation.
Honestly, the 1st runner-up award came as a real surprise! Of course, we were blessed with the support of our family, friends, professors and the members of the public who voted for our clip and encouraged us along the way.
Everyone was brilliant really!
It was definitely pretty nerve-wrecking waiting for the champion team to be announced! We are very happy for the champions ATT and I really do love their heartwarming and cheery clip! Watch it here:
But of course, a big thank you to Nic and Pei Ning for going through this journey with me!
